Chapter I — The Place
A quiet stretch of coast,
held gently by the landscape.
Cambelas rests on the Atlantic edge of Portugal's Silver Coast — a place of low light, pine wind, and pale stone. Here, three residences are being built quietly into a single slope, each one placed to disappear into the horizon it looks upon.
We build only three. Not for scarcity, but for restraint. Every villa is designed around what it holds — light, silence, view, the tree that was already there — rather than what could be added to it.
Chapter II — Architecture

The three villas descend the hillside in a single, patient gesture — each placed one level below the next, so that no terrace overlooks another, and no roofline breaks the horizon.
What was once a fragile coastal slope becomes three quiet pavilions, folded into the earth rather than set upon it.

What is offered here is not a lifestyle but a rhythm — a life paced by tide and sun, olive trees and warm limestone underfoot.

Fifty minutes north of Lisbon, on a stretch of Atlantic coast still known mostly to locals — long dune beaches, pine forest and the small fishing town of Santa Cruz nearby.

The palette is deliberately narrow. Stone, wood, cloth, metal — each selected for its patina, not its finish.

Deep overhangs, cross-ventilation, thermal mass in the stone walls.

Natural ventilation
Every room opens on two sides. Air conditioning is rarely needed.

Stone, wood and craft sourced within the region.

Landscape preservation
The existing olive and pine set the building lines. Nothing mature was removed.
